Rowan County Doughboy

The Doughboy monument originated in the early 1900’s. The construction of the pedestal was sponsored by the Rowan County Women’s Club in 1919. The Doughboy was added ten years later by the direction and sponsorship of the local American Legion Post No 126 on November 11, 1929.

Original Courthouse

The Old Courthouse was used as County Court House until the early 1980’s. The Court House is still used as the Rowan County Arts Center.
